JOB SUMMARY:


The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for field execution of jobsite management including pre-task planning, ordering materials in advance of need, execution of site specific and company health and safety plan, jobsite organization, organization, and direction of JHL craft labor, coordination of self-perform crews, jobsite quality control, and various tasks as assigned by Superintendent. The successful candidate will have extensive industry experience that demonstrates excellent understanding of the unique needs and requirements of projects, departments, and systems. 


REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


Core Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Professionally represents JHL and effectively supports Company strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of utility installation in commercial and civil construction and exceptional jobsite management skills; Delivers on key projects and commitments via professional knowledge and leadership abilities.
  • Aids Superintendent in on-time delivery while maintaining team focus on safety, quality, and budget.
  • Fully understands and effectively utilizes drawings, specifications and subcontract agreements.
  • Works with Superintendent to effectively manage delivery schedules and material procurement.
  • Leads, implements, and enforces jobsite safety requirements and JHL Quality Assurance Program.
  • Supports direct reports through regular communication; Develops competencies and skill sets via active engagement in performance management process, employee development, and problem-solving.
  • Assist Superintendent in the maintenance of an accurate and up to date set of working red-lined/as-built contract documents.
  • Responsible for all jobsite documentation ensuring that legal documents are prepared, distributed, and filed for record keeping.
    • Daily Reports
    • Daily Production tracking and reporting
    • Time Card review
    • Assist Superintendent with Overall Job Schedule
    • Assist Superintendent with Look-Ahead Schedules
    • Quality Control Checklists and Inspections
    • Photo documentation of progress
    • Safety Program Compliance and Weekly Inspections
  • Assist with miscellaneous department duties, and team initiatives as needed. 

 

Education / Experience/ Training:

  • High School Diploma, or GED Equivalent.
  • 5 Years of experience in Utility installation in commercial and civil construction.
  • Attend training for Power Project and advanced schedule theory.
  • Attend training for operational software as needed to stay current.
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification required; 30-hour preferred.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of Utility installation in commercial and civil construction and exceptional jobsite management skills; Delivers on key projects and commitments via professional knowledge and leadership abilities.
  • Possesses detailed process & application knowledge relating to building codes, budget management, construction practices,
  • Possesses detailed process & application knowledge relating to Utility installation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / TRAVEL:


FIELD:  Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather: rain, heat, and loud noises. Up to 10%, and/or daily travel as business requires during scheduled work hours.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
