Job Summary
The Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our company. This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls. The Controller must have a strong understanding of GAAP and experience in financial planning, forecasting, and analysis. This role requires collaboration with department heads to ensure accurate financial tracking and strategic decision-making. The Controller will also oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to streamline financial processes are essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Prepare & analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP & company policies.
- Manage project accounting, fixed assets, company taxes, and payroll.
- Inventory physical and cycle counts.
- Work alongside 3rd party audit firm to audit our company year over year.
- Develop & manage budgets, financial forecasts, & cash flow projections to support business growth.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets & ensure financial accuracy.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow, banking relationships, and financing activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate tax compliance.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights & support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct financial audits, reviews, and reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial operations.
- Stay current with financial regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance.
- Train and mentor future accounting staff to enhance team performance and financial acumen.
- Perform additional duties as required and/or requested.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Passion! Passion! Passion! Confidence and motivation to work toward targets.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Five (5) plus years’ experience in accounting, finance, or controller-related roles, preferably in construction or site development.
- Ideally has sales & use & property tax experience.
- Knowledge of percentage completion accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple financial responsibilities.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software, excel, & Acumatica
- Experience with financial audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with various departments.
- Valid driver’s license.

Hours
8:30 to 4:30 Monday to Friday plus additional as required.
On-Site in Rogers, AR 4 days a week & in Neosho, MO 1 day a week.
