Job Summary
- Operates a service truck with a crane for loading/unloading tanks
- Sets propane/fuel tanks at customer's homes
- Fills out workorders for fuel/propane products; knows pricing
- Creates schedule for work and willing be taking care of customers
General Accountabilities
- Perform new tank installations and tank swap-outs
- Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane/fuel and propane/fuel tanks to and from specified destinations.
- Install, repair, service, and replace propane gas appliances, regulators, gas meters, valves, burners, and pumps in residential, commercial, or industrial-related properties and areas to meet customer requirements and regulatory standards
- Perform leak tests to identify and resolve potential gas leaks promptly
- Bulk handling, tank & bottle inspections, and bottle filling
- Work on liquid piping systems and install, repair and maintain such systems
- Responsible for providing emergency responses
- During daily interaction with customers provides exceptional customer service by supplying safety information and answering any inquiries
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of propane systems to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Diagnose and repair propane system malfunctions and issues, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols
- Diagnose and repair metering systems, to include calibration and certification
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers regarding propane system usage, maintenance, and safety precautions
- Respond to service calls and emergency situations promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for customers
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, inspections, and repairs
- Checks truck to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Maintains logs of working hours of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
- Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs
- Checks all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
- Reads and interprets maps to determine vehicle routes
- Loads and unloads trucks, or helps others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles, and using other equipment, as necessary
- Cleans and maintains truck when needed

Job Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience as a propane technician
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid Commercial Driver License (Class A or B), HAZMAT endorsement required
- Satisfactory completion of DOT physical, drug test & background check
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Preferred: Propane Experience
- Pervious Experience: Can include HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical Maintenance as supplemental to Propane Experience
