About the Role
As a Florida Collections Attorney at Jimerson Birr, you will represent clients in high-volume collection matters throughout the state. You will handle all stages of the litigation process, ensuring quality and efficiency while advocating for the best outcomes for our clients. This role involves:
- Partnering with Paralegal Teams: Collaborate closely with paralegals to support high-volume caseloads, ensuring quality control and effective case management.
- Court Representation: Represent clients during hearings and trial proceedings, including both contested and uncontested matters.
- Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents: Draft, review, and approve pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Managing Default Litigation: Oversee complaint reviews, service of process, default judgments, and post-judgment actions, including garnishments and depositions.
- Handling Contested Matters: Lead the discovery process, develop legal strategies, and manage motion practices for contested cases.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure adherence to federal and state laws, including consumer protection regulations.
- Team Leadership and Development: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to paralegal teams, ensuring compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented attorney who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have:
- Bar Membership: Licensed to practice law in Florida.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in collections law, including attending hearings and managing high-volume caseloads.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with a process-oriented mindset and attention to detail.
- Advocacy Skills: A competitive mindset and a passion for advocating on behalf of clients.
