Jimmy's Jazz & Blues Club is a one-of-a-kind, world-class, full-service, Jazz and Blues Club in downtown Portsmouth Jimmy's features a chef Inspired, scratch menu served in an elegantly transformed century-old building with modern touches.. The service at Jimmy's is elevated but warm. Jimmy's is also a regional destination for corporate, social, and private events.

Restaurant Server

We are looking for a competent Venue Server to take and deliver orders. You’ll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers’ experiences. The responsibilities for one of our Venue Server's includes ensuring that our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, taking orders for food and drink, delivering beverages, and acting as an Ambassador for our historic building. You'll need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we’d like to meet you. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
• Maintain constant professionalism within a listening room where F&B service is intertwined with a concert
• Take and serve drink orders and ensuring food service is timed properly
• Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products
• Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
• Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
• Issue bills and accept payment

Skills

• Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience (Toast knowledge a plus)
• Hands-on experience in cashier duties
• Attention to cleanliness and safety
• Ability to maintain a working knowledge of our beverage program (Wine Service a plus)
• Patience and a customer-oriented approach to sales and hospitality
• Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
• Responsible and trustworthy
• High school diploma is a plus but not required
