General Function
The Routing Coordinator oversees the daily LTL shipments for our customers by managing the workflow through our vendors. This position confers with customers and vendors on freight classes and scheduling to ensure timely and accurate routing.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate dispatching, routing and tracking of LTL (truck) shipments both internally and externally with customer and/or site contacts to ensure smooth communications, operations and high-quality freight movement. Establish Routing of Shipments according to client instructions. Gather and approve dimensions, weights, pictures prior to routing. Working alongside the operations team to consolidate loads
- Calculate LTL freight classes based on shipment dimensions, weights, density to ensure best rate for each shipment. Confer with customers. warehouse supervising personnel and drivers to address questions, problems, or requests
- Schedule incoming orders ensuring timely and accurate processing of documentation and all other aspects of customer requirements, including, but not limited to, booking shipments, scheduling pickups, preparing all necessary documents, gather information from vendors and updating internal system
- Negotiate freight and transportation rates or services as well as the selection of and development of freight providers and rates. Ensure best possible quote/rate for every shipment. Ensure customers are kept abreast of schedule and any possible variations, which may include negotiating new rates and routing coordination.
- Troubleshoot all problems regarding orders – handling irregularities and preventing recurrence. Improve service processes to drive gains in quality and productivity
- Assists the day-to-day operations of the team members to ensure that customer requirements are met and perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- 2 years of logistics and LTL Motor Freight Routing/ Shipping Required
- 1 year of freight classifications required
- Customs Experience with LTL Freight a plus
- DAT Board experience a plus
- World-Trak software a plus
- 2 years of MS Office Skills required

- Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks at once, ability to adapt to changing customer requirements; ability to work productively in a team environment and with team members

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.50 - $23.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
