Position Overview:
The General Manager will oversee the company's day-to-day operations, providing strategic direction and leadership to the team while focusing on financial performance, risk management, and customer satisfaction. This role will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of business activities, including loan origination, underwriting, collections, compliance, and customer service, while ensuring the company maintains strong relationships with its stakeholders and continues to grow within the subprime auto lending industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Set clear objectives and KPIs to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the company, ensuring smooth processes for loan origination, underwriting, collections, and servicing.
- Financial Management: Drive the financial performance of the business, as primary underwriter of all contract applications, monitor P&L, and ensure profitability while maintaining a healthy balance sheet.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to lending practices, loan defaults, and regulatory compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including fair lending laws, privacy laws, and consumer protection regulations.
- Customer Experience: Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and retention. Ensure the company provides excellent service throughout the entire loan lifecycle. Handle escalated calls and customer concerns
- Business Development: Growth of contract portfolio by marketing to dealerships within the assigned market.
- Reporting & Analytics: Analyze financial and operational data to provide insights to the executive team and make data-driven decisions.
- Vendor Management: Work with third-party vendors, ensuring services such as credit reporting, collections, and vehicle repossession are managed effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in subprime auto lending or the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing operations and driving financial growth in a competitive environment.
- Strong understanding of lending practices, credit risk management, and compliance within the auto lending space.
- Expertise in managing Profit & Loss and budgeting processes.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build, manage, and inspire high-performing teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
