We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying, coding, and entering invoices into the accounting system.
- Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices or payments.
- Assist in month-end closing processes by preparing necessary reports and documentation.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or Workday for efficient transaction processing and reporting.
- Support human resources with HRIS-related tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting practices is preferred.
- Proficient in debits and credits as they relate to accounts payable functions.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Workday) is a must for efficient processing of financial data.
- Familiarity with journal entries and general ledger maintenance is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
