As a Summer Intern in Data Engineering at JLL, you will:
- Plan, design, develop, and monitor complex data integration activities for project delivery and daily operations.
- Use PySpark and Spark SQL to extract, manipulate, and transform data from various sources for analysis and modeling.
- Build and optimize ETL workflows using Azure Databricks and PySpark, focusing on efficiency, validation, error handling, and performance.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, creating unified views for analysis and reporting.
- Perform various levels of testing, including unit, integration, regression, and assist with user acceptance testing.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and consult on documentation for accurate data interpretation.
- Identify automation opportunities and optimize data engineering processes using PySpark, Azure Databricks, and Azure Functions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and solution maintainability.
- Implement data security best practices, ensuring data privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.

- Location: Chicago, IL
- Experience or enthusiast data developer using Python, PySpark, Spark Sql, ETL knowledge, SQL Server, ETL Concepts
- Pursuing degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a quantitative discipline in Science, Business, or Social Science.
- Thorough knowledge in Azure Cloud Platform, Cloud Storage, Databricks, Python, PySpark.
- Able to think logically, organize work flows efficiently, and solve problems independently.
- Capability to self-learn new software applications and programming languages.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
- Excellent technical, analytical and organizational skills.
