What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Standards Analyst position at JLL?
JLL is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Design Standards Analyst to provide high quality, reliable and timely services. This a multi-faceted role in which creative, consistent design standards are created and managed to achieve an effective work environment. The role of the Design Standards Analyst is to support the enterprise workplace strategy by ensuring relevant design standards are defined, utilized, and review.
The position will provide expertise on furniture and fixtures, with cost savings recommendations for new construction and renovations. The position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate requires strong organizational and time management skills as well as judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diverse workload of multiple ongoing projects.
Areas of responsibilities may include:
Manage and maintain design standards site.
Provide design feedback to the project team on new construction and renovations in line with predefined workplace standards.
Recommend smart design choices and alternatives for cost savings that fit within the workplace standards framework.
Serve as a thought leader on the overall impact of LEED, WELL and other certifications.
Serve as the subject matter expert and partner with Workplace Strategy team on key decisions regarding finishes, furniture, and other key design elements.
Provide insight on design selections including the overall lifecycle and the impact on ongoing maintenance and sustainability initiatives.
Work with internal stakeholders and proactively lean from third parties to evaluate and update design standards on a timely basis. Provide new products for consideration.
Support implementation of client's enterprise workplace strategy including hybrid workplace trends, occupancy planning, and workplace design.
Lead research efforts and incorporate internal feedback and external benchmarking in findings.
Provide support for project teams and third parties on standards questions and guidance.
Provide support and oversight for contracts with preferred vendors including pricing and timing.
Document feedback on project performance and conduct quarterly reviews with preferred vendors. Provide feedback to client on performance and update vendor relationships as needed.
Provide ad hoc project support and design feedback as needed.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in Design or Architecture.
Must have 3-5 years of relevant work experience in corporate/commercial planning and design.
Must have experience with construction, code compliance, space planning, finishes, furniture, and cost impact of design decisions.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability so successfully communicate with project managers, contractors, design partners, and team members.
Ability to adapt and prioritize, meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in all applicable software packages including but not limited to AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Suite.
