What this job involves: The Electrician position involves working with chemical, radiological, or biological agents that may be hazardous to health if mishandled. The role requires following all safety procedures and using personal protective clothing/equipment where specified.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Plan and layout work details for assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical apparatus, control equipment, and wiring in industrial light and power distribution systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings
- Plan and organize work, and interact with clients and maintenance staff
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner
- Perform complex electrical construction work and install all types of electrical raceways and bus work
- Perform necessary measuring, cutting, threading, bending, and assembling of conduit
- Troubleshoot and correct faulty wiring or electrical difficulties
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, upgrade, and install electrical / instrumentation equipment
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate potential problems and take appropriate actions
- Complete all other work associated with the assignment and work cooperatively with other trades
- M-F Second Shift
- Environmental conditions will vary depending on the job being performed
- Work may take place in either the maintenance shop or the plant
- Could include working outside in winter and summer
- Only one down or lateral move permitted a year
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs/systems
- Experience and training in reactive and predictive maintenance of electrical equipment
- Journeyman status in the craft
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to adequately perform required job functions, including lifting, bending, and moving in a safe manner
- Ability to operate required hand/power tools, test instrumentation, and equipment safely
- Knowledge of and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, SOPs, and work instructions
- Obtain and maintain all required licensing and certifications associated with the position
