What is your day to day?
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and lighting fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Install and maintain building automation and energy management systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with other trades and facility management team members on projects and maintenance tasks.
- Respond to emergency electrical issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time and materials used.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical work.
Desired experience and technical skills
- Valid electrician's license as required by the state of New Jersey.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a commercial or industrial electrician.
- Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with building automation systems and energy management systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends for emergency calls.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate's degree in electrical technology preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Able to stand, walk, climb, and maintain balance for extended periods.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
