Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency power systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems related to facility and power feeds to equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical issues pertaining to facility power and feeds.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to maintain overall building systems
- Respond to emergency situations and power outages
- Implement energy-saving initiatives related to electrical systems
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes
- Capable installing power feeds from panels to new locations
- Work with local power utilities companies to coordinate power issues and resolutions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in electrically related field.
- Valid Electrical license as required by the local jurisdiction
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician. Operating Engineer with a strong focus on electrical systems
- Extensive knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and safety practices
- Proficiency in using building automation systems and energy management software
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations
- Valid North Carolina electrical license.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Capable of working in confined spaces and at heights
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions
- Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP)
- OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health certification
