Position Summary: The Sr. Staff Accountant role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, maintaining general ledger accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end closings, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and reconcile financial statements and reports, including balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Reconcile and code credit card statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation
- Support AR, AP, and payroll functions
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 5 years of related experience, preferably in a Senior level role
- Demonstrated history of career advancement and professional growth within the accounting field, showcasing increasing levels of responsibility and achievement
- Experience working within the manufacturing industry
- Inventory analysis and cost accounting experience preferred
- ERP experience
- Intermediate to expert level Microsoft Excel skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Work Environment:
Office: Corporate office environment that requires regular use of desk, computer, keyboard, mouse, phone, and printers.
