We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager, with millwork experience, to oversee procurement, inventory control, and vendor relations. This position will be responsible for ensuring efficient inventory management, supervising receiving staff, conducting physical inventory audits, and optimizing inventory turnover. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance cost-efficiency with product availability and quality.
Key Responsibilities :
Purchasing & Vendor Management :
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery times.
- Negotiate competitive pricing and favorable terms with existing vendors.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, conducting regular performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure purchasing meets the company's needs and forecasts.
Inventory Control & Optimization :
Monitor inventory levels, implementing strategies to reduce surplus while preventing shortages.Track inventory turnover and implement best practices to improve efficiency.Analyze demand patterns and adjust purchasing strategies to match.Ensure accurate inventory reporting and resolve any discrepancies.Receiving & Physical Inventory Management :
Oversee receiving staff to ensure timely and accurate goods receipt.Manage physical inventory and cycle counts to ensure consistency with system records.Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system data.Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations related to inventory handling.Operational Efficiency & Reporting :
Use inventory management software to monitor stock levels, purchases, and vendor performance.Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.Prepare detailed reports on inventory health, procurement performance, and cost-saving efforts.Drive process improvements to streamline purchasing and inventory management functions.Qualifications :
5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management.Strong negotiation skills and expertise in vendor relationship management.Proficiency in inventory management systems and ERP software.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor a team.Strong communication and organizational skills.Preferred Qualifications :
