Position Overview
The Engineering Technician supports the engineering team by providing technical assistance, conducting tests and evaluations, and ensuring the efficiency of engineering projects, systems, and processes. This role involves working closely with engineers to develop, implement, and maintain engineering initiatives while troubleshooting issues and maintaining equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Assist engineers in designing, developing, and improving engineering projects and systems. Prepare designs, drawings, and specifications while conducting research to support engineering initiatives.
- Testing & Evaluation: Perform tests and measurements on prototypes, components, and systems. Analyze data to assess performance and compliance, recommending corrective actions when needed.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of engineering activities and test results. Prepare reports, summaries, and documentation for internal and client use.
- Equipment & System Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot engineering tools and instruments. Perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with engineers, designers, and technicians, clearly communicating technical information. Assist in training junior technicians or interns as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Requirements
- Associate degree or certification in engineering technology or a related field.
- Strong technical skills with familiarity in engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency with engineering tools, software, and equipment.
- Experience in testing, measurements, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
