Pennichuck Corporation is a private water utility engaged in the collection, storage, treatment, distribution, and sale of potable water in southern and central New Hampshire. We operate both as a regulated water utility operation and a non-regulated water management service. Our Corporate headquarters is located in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Our Engineering group is seeking a technician to provide on-site construction inspection and coordination for Pennichuck water improvement projects.
Engineering Technician Water Distribution Construction Coordination and Inspection
Primary duties include:
Construction Project Inspection
- Working directly with contractors and sub-contractors, ensure the work is aligned with company specifications and federal/state regulations.
- Act as primary point of contact with contractors, sub-contractors and developers. Advise and communicate with all parties regularly to ensure that the installation of water mains adheres to specifications and regulations
- Ensure project administration tasks such as contractor invoice review and documentation on project process is timely.
Engineering Support
- Coordinate, observe and document calculations for pressure and chlorination tests of water mains
- GPS company assets installed by contractor and coordinate with Pennichuck GIS personnel. Log and file all project events and as-builts for company records
Cross Connection Control
- Obtain cross connection surveyor certification within one year.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Experience working as a Construction Inspector; Resident/Field Engineer; Resident/Field Inspector; Survey Crew Chief; Utility Inspector; Utility Foreman; or Construction Foreman.
- An associates degree in engineering or construction management is a plus.
- Water distribution certification level 1 or the ability to gain this certification within six months.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Develop competence working with a variety of engineering and construction related software. This includes but is not limited to Cityworks, ArcGIS and GPS software.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Familiarity or prior training with AutoCAD is a plus.
- General understanding of utility standards and civil/site engineering.
- Valid drivers license. A company vehicle will be provided.
Expected Hours of Work:
- Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 am -4:00 pm. Occasionally, evening, early morning or weekend work hours will be required.
