Role Overview:
As the AP Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and improving all aspects of our Accounts Payable function. You’ll lead the small AP team, manage vendor relationships, and ensure smooth and timely payments. A key focus of the role will be to assess, refine, and implement efficient processes that will set our team up for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Coordination: Lead the AP function, manage the small team, and provide guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Vendor & Payment Management: Communicate with vendors regarding billing, payment status, and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Process Improvement: Analyze current AP workflows and recommend/implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Hands-On Support: Oversee and manage day-to-day AP tasks, including invoice processing, approvals, and payments.
- Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations. Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience (2 years) in an AP lead/manager or similar role with a track record of improving AP processes.
- Strong knowledge of AP functions, accounting principles, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in vendor relations and cross-functional team coordination.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a low-structure environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems (please specify any preferred platforms).
