Job description: Introduction: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of the familys wealth and investments. This position requires a strong background in accounting, proven managerial experience, and the ability to manage complex financial structures. A CPA designation is preferred, but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess exceptional leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Manage day-to-day accounting functions for the family office, including the preparation and review of financial statements, general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and lead a small team of accountants, ensuring smooth operations, professional growth, and consistent performance.
  • Tax Compliance and Planning: Work closely with tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of personal, business, and investment-related taxes. Assist in strategic tax planning and reporting.
  • Investment Reporting: Oversee the accounting of investments, including private equity, real estate, and other asset classes, ensuring accurate tracking of valuations, distributions, and returns.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and budgeting across the familys financial operations to ensure operational efficiency and adequate reserves.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and enforce robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard the familys assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Audit Preparation: Coordinate and liaise with external auditors to prepare for and support annual audits of family financial statements.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Provide regular financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to senior family members, assisting with strategic decision-making.

Qualifications: Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role, ideally within a family office, private wealth management, or similar environment.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred. Additional certifications such as CMA, CFA, or CFP are a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership, management, and team-building abilities.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and investment accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and financial systems ; Oracle a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and ability to work with sensitive financial information.
