Summary: Works under the direction of the Food Service Division Manager. Plans, directs and coordinates activities of project to ensure goals and objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervises subordinates and coordinates activities of workers engaged in serving meals, cleaning dining rooms, washing dishes, cleaning dish washing rooms, washing pots, cleaning pot washing rooms, cleaning bathrooms, removing trash and policing the outside area.
- Routinely checks refrigeration temperatures.
- Reviews and approves menus. �
- Performs facility inspections and forwards reports of deficiencies to Division Manager
- Performs personal hygiene inspections on an announced inspection schedule. �
- Performs inventories on all supplies and equipment as required. �
- Performs Quality Control inspections in all areas of the contract.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees assigned to the contract at site. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. - Education and/or Experience: Three years minimum experience managing a cafeteria or multi food service facility, including sanitation, training, security, food preparation, customer relations, menu selection, safety and accident prevention and equipment maintenance.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization in English.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: Proficient knowledge of basic word processing and spreadsheet program applications.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certification from an approved sanitation program. Certificate of course completion and passing for State required Sexual Harassment Training within six (6) months of obtaining this position. Non-compliance with all or part of this section will result in demotion with possible termination.
- Other Qualifications: Must possess a valid California Driver's License and be willing to transport employees using company vehicles.
