Job Description
The EHS Workers’ Compensation Coordinator manages safety incidents and injuries including investigations, guiding the reporting process, workers compensation management, OSHA recordkeeping, Intelex system management, metrics and trending, coordinating with medical providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Investigates injuries with supervisors to assist in identifying incident causes and potential corrective actions.
- Provides support and training to supervisors and coordinators regarding the reporting and management of workers compensation claims.
- Coordinates, administers, and oversees WFD workers’ compensation program. Processes and documents all workers compensation claims
- Maintains the OSHA 300 logs and associated tracking of restricted duty, days away and other injury tracking
- Coordinates with injured employees and medical providers to ensure employee receives needed care
- Coordinates EHS committee meetings.
- Manages employee programs for safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing tests.
- Provides support to all employees in any EHS matter by acting as technical and procedural resource.
- Orders various safety supplies using the purchasing system or company credit card.
- Helps to manage EHS files (electronic and hard copy).
- May attend trade shows and participates in professional safety-related associations in order to maintain a current body of knowledge that may be incorporated into the workplace.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND KSA’S FOR EMPLOYMENT
- Solid knowledge of records maintenance skills.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and some industrial safety.
- Solid knowledge of computer use and applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Solid knowledge of and management of workers’ compensation claims process
- Basic knowledge of project management in order to establish timelines for various projects.
- Basic knowledge of report writing and maintenance of statistical records.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in
- Ability to work with limited supervision to complete assignments.
- Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to feel comfortable in presenting information before medium and large sized groupings of employees.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Skill in conducting accident investigations.
- Acceptable Training and Experience 4 year degree in a related field is desired. Experience with workers’ compensation, data analysis and EHS experience within a fabrication / manufacturing environment is preferred.
Demonstrated intermediate (Level II) proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
