Assistant Director of UConn Rec - Safety, Risk Management, and Compliance

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as department safety officer, coordinating work internally with all department personnel and externally with EHS, Human Resources, Athletic Training Medical Staff, Student Health and Wellness, and Public Safety to ensure industry standards and university compliance.
- Develop and implement safety and risk management practices and procedures for all department facilities and programs.
- Set annual safety program compliance schedule for the department, ensuring all units meet compliance and promote safety in all facets of daily operation.
- Oversee risk management and safety program compliance obligations in department systems of record utilizing Husky SMS, Healthy Roster, Connect2Concepts, and Fusion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and six to seven years of related experience. Two years of experience must be serving as an advanced/senior team member or working as a project lead.
- Or Master's degree in a related field and four years of related experience.
- Current Adult CPR/AED Certification or ability to acquire within six (6) months of hire.
- Previous experience working with OSHA/Workplace Safety Requirements.
- Experience with department software applications (Husky SMS, Healthy Roster, Connect2Concepts, Fusion).
What We Offer
A full-time, permanent position requiring flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays. A valid driver's license is necessary to operate a university vehicle for travel to satellite locations for safety and inspection purposes.
