Job Title: Chief School Safety Officer

About the Role

The Chief School Safety Officer will be responsible for leading our efforts to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and community. This includes developing and implementing comprehensive safety and security plans, collaborating with school administrators and staff, and establishing relationships with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security plans that address potential risks and threats
2. Collaborate with school administrators, faculty, and staff to promote a culture of safety and security within the school community
3. Establish and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination during emergency situations
4. Provide regular safety and security updates to the school administration and Board of Education
5. Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including lockdown and evacuation procedures
6. Conduct regular safety inspections of school facilities and grounds
7. Develop and conduct training programs for school staff on safety and security procedures, crisis response, and emergency preparedness
8. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in school safety and security, and incorporate this knowledge into your work

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as law enforcement, criminology, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a school setting
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety and security plans
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to school safety and security
