In this role, you will have the opportunity to serve as the City Manager for Nederland, Texas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing executive leadership, fiscal oversight, and strategic direction for our city.

About the Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of our citizens. As City Manager, you will oversee all city departments, manage infrastructure projects, and serve as a primary liaison with business leaders, residents, and external agencies.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of seven years of municipal administration or closely related experience.
3. The ability to be bondable.
4. A valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one within three months.

Preferred qualifications include:

1. A master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Experience in Texas municipal government, including knowledge of state laws, tax structures, and economic development policies.
3. FEMA certifications and experience with emergency management, from preparation to recovery.
4. Experience in union negotiations, collective bargaining, and public safety labor relations.
5. An ICMA Credentialed Manager (ICMA-CM) designation or similar executive leadership certification.
6. A proven track record in capital program management, infrastructure planning, and financial sustainability.
7. Technical knowledge in community development and a strong ability to modernize city systems and processes.

We offer a competitive salary targeted at $175,000 to $195,000 DOQ/DOE.
