Aquatics Director
As the Aquatics Director at Upper Valley Aquatic Center, you will oversee lifeguard teams, ensure safety standards are met, and coordinate pool schedules and events to provide adequate lifeguard coverage.
This role requires creativity in developing and improving programs, classes, and events. You will also be responsible for scheduling, promoting, and maximizing the profitability of Red Cross Lifeguard Training and other classes.
Your expertise will be essential in managing operating expenses and budgets while maintaining all health, safety, and legal requirements set by OSHA, state, and local health department codes/ordinances.
You must maintain proper pool chemical balances, filtration, and water quality in accordance with state and local health department codes.
Maintainance of safety/rescue equipment is crucial; repairing or replacing broken or worn-out equipment is necessary.
You will conduct weekly inspections of the pool, deck, walls, and equipment.
Fully stocked first-aid kits, CPR masks, and blood spill kits are mandatory.
CPR/AED certifications and re-certifications for UVAC staff will be performed as necessary.
In-service training sessions will be conducted for all aquatic staff.
Hiring, training, and oversight of Lifeguard and Red Cross instructor staff will fall under your responsibility.
A minimum of 2 years management experience and certifications such as Certified Pool Operator, Water Safety Instructor; Lifeguard Training are required.
