Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven individual to lead our organization as the Director of Energy Services and Administration. The successful candidate will perform high-level administrative, technical, and professional work in directing and supervising the administration of Austin Utilities.
This includes planning and directing the operations of the utilities to maintain a competitive position in the delivery of electric, water, and gas commodities. The successful candidate will establish current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies for the utilities.
Responsibilities
The Director of Energy Services and Administration will be responsible for:
- Directing and supervising the administration of Austin Utilities
- Planning and directing the operations of the utilities to maintain a competitive position
- Establishing current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies for the utilities
- Ensuring adequate plans for future development and growth of the utility are in place
- Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve organizational goals
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a four-year bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or public administration. They must also possess knowledge of public sector organizational operations and a focus on strategic initiatives regarding technology deployment, including cyber security.
Additional requirements include proficiency in budgeting and financial oversight of a department or organization, as well as proficiency with PCs, technology, and applications to complete job responsibilities.
