About the Role
Edesia is seeking an experienced Director of Government Affairs to lead its U.S. and global advocacy efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic advocacy initiatives to strengthen partnerships with government agencies, UN organizations, NGOs, international donors, and influencers in the food security space.
The Director of Government Affairs will work closely with the VP of Strategic Partnerships to develop and implement advocacy strategies that advance Edesia's mission. This includes shaping legislation, influencing policy, and providing actionable insights to guide organizational priorities while advising the CEO on emerging trends.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legislative processes, excellent communication, negotiation, and public representation skills. They will also have demonstrated leadership ability and experience in team management, as well as a proactive, adaptable approach suited to the dynamic policy environment.
Key Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in international relations, public policy, public health, nutrition, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in government relations, public policy, or advocacy
• Established network within government and regulatory bodies
• Proven success in securing funding and advancing advocacy goals
