Job Summary
The Director, Prospect Management & Analytics will support Santa Clara University's fundraising efforts by providing customized information and analyses that contribute to building and maintaining donor relationships and strengthening connections to the university.
This role requires a strong understanding of fundraising strategies and the ability to analyze complex data sets to identify trends and develop actionable recommendations for PMA, development officers, and university relations leadership.
- Independently lead large and complex projects with multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
- Assist and advise the Senior Director in developing and implementing PMA guidelines and procedures, priority setting, and implementation of new initiatives.
- Design and implement comprehensive data-mining and proactive prospect identification projects for various fundraising initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of fundraising, project management, research and prospect management, as well as experience working with advancement information systems and software. A bachelor's degree is required, and a graduate or professional degree is preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of direct experience in the research and prospect management/development field is required, preferably at a higher education institution.

Responsibilities:
- Manage large and complex data projects supporting strategic and tactical planning and operation effectiveness of the university's fundraising efforts.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews with assigned development officers to advise prospect strategy, track pipeline development, and optimize portfolios.
- Analyze broad data sets to identify trends and develop actionable recommendations for PMA, development officers, and university relations leadership.
- Support and promote the PMA program, including conducting prospect strategy meetings, preparing routine reports of prospect information, and training development officers and other staff on prospect management guidelines and procedures.
- Coordinate proactive use of the CLARA (CRM) database to support moves management, including moves tracking, proposal tracking, and task management.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of fundraising and proven experience in producing, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive fundraising strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management, including proficiency in developing and implementing complex data projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in research and prospect management, with specific experience in research techniques, prospect management strategies, process analysis and business analytics.
