Job Title: Chief Financial Officer
About Us: Gunnison Valley Health is the sole community-owned health system for Gunnison County and surrounding areas. We offer a range of services from an award-winning EMS department to a 52,000 square foot, state-of-the-art senior care center.
We are a leading health source for our community, providing wellness programs, medical education, and illness prevention.
The Role: We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will lead financial planning, budgeting, revenue cycle management, and compliance while providing strategic insights to drive organizational success.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the organization's mission and growth objectives.
- Lead financial forecasting, risk assessment, and investment strategies to ensure a strong financial position.
- Oversight of financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.
- Manage and assume overall responsibility for accounting functions, to include Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger management for all of Gunnison Valley Health departments and entities.
- Provide overall financial leadership for the Hospital and for the Senior Care Center, to include goal setting, quality, and performance measurement.
- Stay ahead of evolving healthcare payment models, regulatory changes, and reimbursement challenges.
- Direct and oversight of departments including Finance, Patient Financial Services, Information Technology, and Supply Chain Management.
- Lead financial planning for capital projects, technology investments, and infrastructure improvements.
- Serve as the financial liaison to the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within financial operations.
- Oversight of the strategic implementation of financial and information technology systems.
- Lead financial preparedness for emergencies, economic downturns, and unexpected financial challenges.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial transparency across the organization.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or related field preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive financial leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare system.
- Experience in critical access hospital finance preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) preferred.
