Job Description
The Director of Energy Services and Administration will perform high-level administrative, technical, and professional work in directing and supervising the administration of Austin Utilities. This includes planning and directing the operations of the utilities to maintain a competitive position in the delivery of electric, water, and gas commodities.
The successful candidate will establish current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies for the utilities. They will ensure adequate plans for future development and growth of the utility are in place to meet the needs of customers and employees.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a four-year bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or public administration. They must also possess knowledge of public sector organizational operations and a focus on strategic initiatives regarding technology deployment, including cyber security.
Additional requirements include proficiency in budgeting and financial oversight of a department or organization, as well as proficiency with PCs, technology, and applications to complete job responsibilities.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel as needed and spend significant time as an active member in community and utility-related organizations.
