City Manager
We are seeking a visionary City Manager to lead our rapidly growing community in the Central Texas Corridor.
The addition of Samsung and Tesla has created a high demand for residential and industrial/commercial growth, making this an exciting time to join our team.
About Jarrell, Texas
Jarrell, Texas is a Type A, General Law City that provides wholesale Wastewater Treatment to the M.D. and expands it as necessary to support its growth.
The city built a new city hall in 2013 to support Administration, EDC, and Police services, which was expanded again in 2018 to meet increased needs.
We have a robust Police department with a Police Chief, Police Corporal, 7 full-time Patrol Officers, and 2 School Resource Officers serving the Jarrell Independent School District.
The city uses a Public Private Partnership model to run its Utilities Department, providing both Water and Wastewater services.
Community Overview
Jarrell was founded in 1909 as a ranching and farming community, and population growth in the Jarrell Independent School District is expanding at a rate of 25% annually.
The completion of new bridges on Ronald Reagan Boulevard in 2022 will bring increased commercial activity to the area.
Sales Tax revenues have grown by 13% over the last 3 years, and we are seeking a City Manager who can continue to drive growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple departments while focusing on areas of growth
- Develop strategic plans to support continued rapid growth and alternative municipal government philosophies
- Lead Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Development efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 5 years of progressive responsible experience in Municipal Administration
- DIRECT EXPERIENCE SETTING MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT BUDGETS
- CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC-PRIVATE-PARTNERSHIP FUNCTIONS
