Recreation Director
The Recreation Director plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents at Riverfront Rehab. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and develop philosophies and policies for the recreation program, including writing procedures, goals, and objectives.
- Establish an individualized recreation plan based on each resident's needs, interests, and abilities.
- Document the recreation program and resident progress within activities, maintaining records that improve future planning and evaluation.
- Contribute to the development of the resident care plan, maintain adequate records on volunteers, and comply with government standards for documentation.
- Implement a meaningful recreation program for all residents, including room-bound individuals, providing opportunities for participation in community activities and service to others.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the recreation program, assessing its impact on enhancing the quality of life for residents.
- Work efficiently and cooperatively with administration and staff, contributing to new staff orientation, participating as a team member, and interpreting goals and methods of the recreation program.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with residents' families, orienting them to recreation programs, encouraging participation, and seeking their input and suggestions.
- Remain actively involved with the community, educating members about the worth of facility residents and staff, and utilizing community resources in programs.
- Ensure the safety of facility residents, adhering to legal, safety, health, fire, and sanitation codes.
- Establish and maintain an effective volunteer program, recruiting, screening, orienting, training, supervising, and evaluating volunteers.
