Job Title: Full-time Core Faculty Member for Family Medicine Residency Program
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced physician to join our team as a full-time core faculty member in our Family Medicine Residency Program.
About the Role
As a core faculty member, you will provide direct care to clinic patients, educate residents through precepting and formal teaching, perform advising and curricular duties, participate in program committees, and contribute to maintaining the program's mission of providing high-quality medical care to a diverse population in a rural community.
You will be responsible for providing comprehensive family medicine care, including obstetrics (OB), and will have the opportunity to work with residents and medical students. We encourage candidates with varying levels of experience, from new graduates to seasoned physicians, to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to clinic patients and educate residents through precepting
- Participate in program committees and contribute to maintaining the program's mission
- Perform advising and curricular duties, including formal teaching and performance evaluations
Work Environment
The Georgia South Family Medicine Clinic is located on the hospital's campus inside the new state-of-the-art Ameris Medical Education Center. The clinic features 22 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, 2 precepting rooms, and a lab. You will also have access to a physicians' lounge with meals provided and a 24-hour fitness center.

Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
- Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFM)
- Valid Georgia Medical License or participation in Interstate Medical Licensure Compact
- Current D.E.A. Certificate
Preferred Qualifications
- FQHC/CHC experience
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
Open to family medicine trained candidates with additional training/fellowships. Candidates are not required to have faculty experience; they will be trained on the job. Open to new grads who are interested in exploring an academic setting.
