Job Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned attorney to join our team as an Assistant General Counsel, focusing on real estate transactions and multifamily housing matters. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial real estate law, particularly in multi-family housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal counsel on real estate transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, easements, development and joint venture agreements, fund agreements, side agreements, vendor agreements, and leases.
- Contribute to the development of litigation strategies and play an active role in litigation and claims management.
- Guide property management practices, ensuring adherence to local regulations and compliance standards.
- Partner with outside counsel to prepare, negotiate, and manage private equity fund agreements.
- Interact with fund investors and conduct in-depth legal research on statutory interpretation, case law, and evolving legal concepts.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from a reputable, accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with a State Bar.
- At least ten (10) years of commercial real estate experience, with a minimum of four (4) to five (5) years specializing in multi-family housing transactions.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate law, title and survey issues, business law, and landlord-tenant matters.
