Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Counsel to join our team as a Senior Counsel, Legal Privacy & Data Security. This role will involve handling a variety of privacy and data security matters across business areas and jurisdictions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and day-to-day legal support for business functions
- Monitor and advise on compliance and implementation positions for emerging data privacy laws
- Support global privacy contracts and M&A legal teams regarding data privacy legal questions, contract reviews, and negotiations
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage data privacy and protection terms for various transactional agreements
- Support the AbbVie privacy compliance office regarding the operation of AbbVie's global privacy program
- Monitor and advise on the implications of privacy laws on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
- Legal support for information security risk management team, including data breach analysis and response, third-party risk management, and insider risk
- Draft and review privacy notice, consent, and contract templates globally and regionally
- Manage and supervise external privacy counsel work
