As a Legal Counsel for the EDA sales channel, you will play a crucial role in negotiating customer contracts and providing legal support to the business.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join a global team responsible for negotiating customer contracts for the Americas zone and the global EDA sales channel. The successful candidate will partner with the business on commercial transactions, primarily for the EDA sales channel in Japan. Key responsibilities include:
• Providing legal support and counsel to the business in the region supported
• Conducting contract negotiations with clients, focusing on software licensing, cloud offerings, and data protection
• Coordinating responses to customer contract clauses, concerns, and questions by seeking internal feedback from subject matter experts across the global organization
• Partnering with internal clients and finance during contract negotiations
• Conducting training on legal issues for business partners
• Handling matters of high risk, complexity, and visibility within the business
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
• Proficient written and spoken Japanese
• At least 5 years of experience in drafting and negotiating complicated legal agreements
• Ability to function as a member of a global team in a complex matrix environment
• Experience in cloud agreements and a solid understanding of data protection
• Semiconductor/EDA industry knowledge is a plus
