We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Geriatric Activity Coordinator to join our team at Wedgewood Healthcare Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in therapeutic recreation or a related field, with experience in planning, developing, and coordinating activities for residents.
About the Role
This is a full-time day shift position available. As a Geriatric Activity Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for our residents, promoting socialization, relaxation, and enjoyment through various activities and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate all diversified resident-centered activities as needed.
- Involve residents in planning individualized activities programs, oversee residents' participation, and advocate for residents regarding their needs, preferences, interests, and rights.
- Participate in meetings including resident council meetings, family council meetings, department head meetings, and other committee meetings as required.
- Promote positive relationships with individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community through outings and activities provided by volunteers.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field, or have completed the 90-hour course for activities professionals and continuing education. Prior management experience is required, preferably in a healthcare environment.
