The YMCA Alliance of Northern New England is seeking a seasoned and accomplished professional to take the next step in their leadership journey as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The CEO will join an Alliance with a dedicated staff and volunteer team, all committed to strengthening local YMCAs and expanding their impact within the communities they serve.
We are looking for an innovative, strategic, and community-oriented leader who can foster trust among stakeholders, cultivate collaboration, and drive initiatives that enhance the reputation and influence of YMCAs within the Alliance.
About the Role
- Lead and manage a team providing strategic services to YMCA member organizations within the Alliance.
- Develop, implement, and lead the Alliance's strategic plan, addressing the needs of the Ys in the Alliance.
- Elevate and advance the Alliance's advocacy efforts, working in partnership with all Ys in the Alliance on critical state, regional, and federal issues.
- Position the Alliance and member Ys as vital partners for community and statewide change, serving as an ambassador for the mission, purpose, and vision of the Y and the Alliance.
- Steward state and federal funding efforts, identifying potential funding opportunities that support the Alliance's strategic plan and the work of Ys collectively in the Alliance.

The 25 YMCAs in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont serve more than 203,000 people across the region each year, leveraging their trusted position in the community to provide critical services that would otherwise fall to the government.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic services to YMCA member organizations within the Alliance.
- Create and execute a strategic plan that addresses the needs of the Ys in the Alliance.
- Work in partnership with all Ys in the Alliance on critical state, regional, and federal issues.
- Serve as an ambassador for the mission, purpose, and vision of the Y and the Alliance.
- Identify and determine potential statewide and or federal funding opportunities that support the Alliance's strategic plan and the work of Ys collectively in the Alliance.
Candidate Requirements
- Accredited 4-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- Fiscally sound business and organizational management with a proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management over $1M annually.
- Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.
- Demonstrated strong project management skills with a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and effective communication to successfully navigate project constraints and deliver desired outcomes.
