Job Details
We are looking for a Temporary Full-Time Payroll Manager. This person will be a member of the Human Capital team, responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy and timeliness for a company with over 1,200 colleagues. This individual will work collaboratively with the Human Capital team, finance partners, and other colleagues across the firm. This role will lead the preparation, processing and review of semi-monthly full cycle US exempt and non-exempt payrolls; including and not limited to, benefits, taxes and off-cycle requests while ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. This position can be performed fully remote, or work out of a local office.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Run payroll processing with the ability to run payroll independently front to end.
Work closely with the Compensation and Benefits team on processing benefit changes, rewards and recognition transactions, and accurately processing leave of absences.
Ensure timely submittal of approved time records.
Audit timesheets to ensure wages and benefits are properly calculated.
Work directly with other departments and colleagues to resolve pay discrepancies.
Manage payroll related inquires and respond to colleague questions.
Partner with OSV on tax filings, jurisdictional SUI and SIT setup and account maintenance, system issues, and other related items.
Assist with W-2 year-end configuration in Workday.
Assist with requests for ad hoc payroll reports.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Professional Experience And Qualifications
2-5 Year of Workday Payroll experience required
BA and/or BS preferred.
Experience processing multi-state payroll taxes.
Clear understanding of payroll regulations and compliance, including federal, state and local wage and hour policies and employment tax laws.
Displays strong relationship building skills. Is an active listener, communicates effectively, and can influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to meet deadlines, navigate multiple projects simultaneously and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional detail–orientation; work product is accurate and completed on a timely basis.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team; self-starter.
Strong work ethic and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately.
Effective written and verbal communications skills.
