We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Consulting Shipping Clerk to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This position requires a strong understanding of the shipping process, from order to delivery, and a commitment to ensuring that all shipments meet our high standards of accuracy and timeliness. The successful candidate will have a background in purchasing, inventory control, and scheduling, and will be able to use their skills to streamline our shipping processes, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of shipping and receiving, ensuring that all products are correctly packaged, labeled, and shipped to the right location on time.
• Work closely with our purchasing department to manage inventory levels, making sure that we always have the necessary supplies on hand to meet customer orders.
• Coordinate with our sales and production teams to schedule shipments, taking into account factors like production timelines, customer deadlines, and shipping costs.
• Use your knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures to ensure that all shipments comply with relevant laws and standards.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve our shipping processes, such as by identifying opportunities to consolidate shipments, negotiate better rates with carriers, or reduce packaging waste.
• Handle any issues that arise during the shipping process, such as delayed shipments, damaged goods, or incorrect orders, in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep accurate records of all shipments, including costs, delivery times, and any problems encountered.
• Provide regular reports to management on shipping activities and performance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
• Proven skills in purchasing, inventory control, and scheduling.
• Knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments at once and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly and effectively resolve any issues that arise during the shipping process.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with other departments and communicate clearly with customers and carriers.
• Proficiency in relevant software, such as inventory management systems and shipping software.
• A commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of your work.
