Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accountant to join our growing organziation. This position is an integral part of our finance team and will play a critical role in maintaining and driving the financial health of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, taxes, post transactions, budgets, forecasts, and improving financial processes. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage tax filing process, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities, and expenses).
- Develop and maintain financial statements and reports, including the monthly and annual accounts.
- Prepare budgets and financial forecasts, and report any variances.
- Propose ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes and controls.
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Develop systems to process payroll and track expenses.
- Stay updated with industry trends and current financial legislation.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze financial records and transfer information.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex accounting concepts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
