We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and provide leadership and guidance to the accounting staff. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Accounting Oversight
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions and reconciliation of accounts.
- Maintain and update accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external reports, including variance analysis and financial commentary.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decision-making.
- Work closely with department heads to monitor budgetary performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as needed to support management decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for analysis and reporting.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
- Ensure that accounting staff adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to enhance accuracy and productivity.
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company's compliance.
Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting practices.
- Experience with accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- High ethical standards and integrity in professional conduct.
