We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Accounting Manager to join our team in the Energy industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting operations of our organization, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Manage and supervise accounting department employees; responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership.
- Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures and processes.
- Follow and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Record and research all financial information for analysis.
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
- Oversee journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Manage the company's accounting software and technology.
- Advise on procedures and financial management as well as developing policies.
- Oversee the financial and metric data reporting for the organization.
- Implement and monitor internal controls (in conjunction with corporate guidelines) to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and present financial statements and reports for both internal and external purposes, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory accounting role, preferably in the Energy industry.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proven experience in managing a team and driving team success.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven business decisions.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees and management.
- Superior analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying accounting standards and regulations.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
