- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Manage the preparation and distribution of internal financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures.
- Coordinate the budget process, collect the inputs, and compare the company's actual performance with the budget model.
- Oversee the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of wages, benefits, and taxes.
- Calculate commissions and handle the financial aspects of the auto dealership.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting, including variance and margin analysis.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
- Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
- Collaborate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Drive process improvements for more efficient and streamlined accounting processes.
- Participate in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and budget development.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree or professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an accounting leadership role, preferably in the Automotive industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with a software system.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting, required.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and tax preparation.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Knowledge of business strategy, process improvement, and managerial finance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
- Strong ethics and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
