We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Assistant Controller to join our thriving Accounting Finance team. This position plays a pivotal role in managing the financial health of our organization by maintaining precise records, analyzing financial data, and preparing monthly reports.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger (GL) management, fixed assets, and monthly reporting. They will be expected to bring a strategic perspective to daily operational activities, provide insights into financial performance, and support the Controller in all areas of financial management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller in managing all aspects of accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and prepare financial statements.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports regarding net revenue losses and gains, operating costs, and all other financial activities of the company.
• Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
• Develop strategies to improve financial performance by analyzing cost variances and recommending corrective actions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
• 5 years of proven experience in an Assistant Controller role or similar, with 10 years of experience in progressive roles in Accounting.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of accounting software.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close processes, fixed asset management, cost accounting, and general ledger management.
• Strong analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial data to C-Suite.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
