Responsibilities
Financial Oversight Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
Project Accounting Oversee the construction project accounting process from initiation to completion, including preparation and analysis of month-end reporting (WIP reports, over/under, gross margin, revenue recognition, and projections).
Audit Coordination Partner with external auditors to support annual audit procedures, ensuring timely communication and accurate documentation.
Transaction Management Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, job costing, general ledger, contracts management, and purchasing functions to optimize financial operations.
Performance Analysis Maintain KPI dashboards and lead monthly analytical processes to assess operational and financial performance, providing actionable insights for improvement.
Team Development Supervise and mentor a team of 4-8 accounting professionals, promoting professional growth and development.
Financial Planning & Analysis Support the annual budgeting process, including preparation and consolidation of budget requests, analytics, and presentations for management review.
System Implementation Assist in the deployment of new ERP systems and financial software tools to modernize and scale business operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA certification highly preferred.
7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the construction or engineering industries.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, with a solid understanding of percentage of completion accounting.
Exceptional attention to detail, with a rigorous and methodical approach to financial management.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all company functions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with Sage 300 CRE, IFS, or OneStream is a plus.
