Responsibilities
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report and manage the year-end close process.
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
- Communicate financial metrics to senior management and provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Oversee all aspects of manufacturing accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus.
- 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, preferably within the manufacturing or retail industry.
- Proven working experience as a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including US GAAP.
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to strategize and solve problems.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior management and key stakeholders.
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
- High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
