This is a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization where you will play a critical role in the financial management of our multifamily residential properties. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analyses. If you are a seasoned professional with a strong background in multifamily accounting, apartments, residential, Appfolio, and MRI, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities
As a Permanent Controller, you will be expected to
- Oversee all accounting operations for our multifamily residential properties, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results.
- Coordinate, prepare, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Manage the budget process, including the development of financial and operational strategies.
- Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
- Maximize return and limit risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments.
- Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
- Supervise the use of Appfolio and MRI software to maintain financial data and generate reports.
- Collaborate with the executive team to make decisions regarding the company's financial strategy and operations.
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position should possess the following qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role, preferably in the multifamily residential or apartment industry.
- Proven experience with Appfolio, MRI, or similar property management or real estate software.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.
