Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and have a knack for numbers? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position that offers you a chance to be part of a team that is at the heart of our company's financial operations. You will play a crucial role in our financial planning and decision-making processes, relying on your expertise in cost accounting to provide us with accurate, insightful data.
Responsibilities
As our Cost Accountant, your key responsibilities will include
- Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
- Analyzing data collected and recording results, including auditing the accuracy of cost reports and ensuring that all relevant costs are accounted for.
- Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures, and making recommendations for cost-efficient strategies.
- Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports, comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger, including conducting monthly cost roll-ups, and preparing monthly account reconciliations.
- Conducting physical inventories and monitoring the cycle count program.
- Coordinating with the internal audit team and managing financial reporting.
- Preparing and presenting cost reports to the management, and making recommendations on financial forecasts and risk assessment.
The ideal candidate for the Cost Accountant position should possess the following qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 5 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, account reconciliation, and cost accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and experience with a software system implementation a plus.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present complex financial data (both verbally and written).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects.
