Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
- Optimize OLTP systems and SQL/T-SQL queries
- Develop and manage ETL processes and pipelines
- Collaborate with Engineering and Analytics teams to structure scalable data architecture
- Implement Schema documentation using Schema Spy
- Monitor database performance and storage
- Ensure data accuracy through regular QA and testing
- Maintain database security, backups, and disaster recovery protocols
- Stay current with best practices in SQL optimization and data engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Database Engineer in a healthcare environment
- Strong SQL skills including writing, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Experience with EDW, OLTP, and ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, etc.)
- Solid foundation in data modeling, schema design, and documentation
- Familiarity with database backup, recovery, and security practices
- Agile development experience and strong collaboration across technical/business units
- Preferred Experience with clinical managed care systems and healthcare concepts
- Ability to travel to Plymouth Meeting HQ 2–4 times annually
